Jonathan David has fans at Aston Villa and elsewhere, but is yet to find a new club.
Jonathan David’s future is uncertain, despite the fact that he is eligible for free transfer this summer.
The Canadian striker has not signed a new deal with Lille and is apparently in negotiations with several teams about becoming a free agent.

David has admirers at Villa, as well as many other clubs in Europe and the Premier League.
L’Équipe reported in May that Villa and Tottenham were interested in signing David, along with Napoli and Juventus.
Villa has a track record of signing quality free agents in recent summer windows, such as Boubacar Kamara and Youri Tielemans.
While no transfer fee is involved, free agents frequently fetch large signing incentives.
According to Gazzetta, David’s deal to Juventus has yet to be finalised since his camp is reportedly wanting €15 million in commissions.
Despite the current standoff, a breakthrough is expected, with Juventus being the most likely destination.
It’s unclear whether Villa were ever serious in pursuing David this summer, especially given the club’s need to decrease its salary cost.
“It looked like Aston Villa would go after him with everything they had, but the deal never came off because they could not find an agreement with either the player or the club.”
