Josh Mulligan to Rangers latest as Dundee boss ‘won’t give up hope’

Josh Mulligan to Rangers latest as Dundee boss ‘won’t give up hope’.

Despite Rangers’ interest, Dundee boss Tony Docherty has refused to give up optimism that Josh Mulligan will stay with the club beyond the summer.

The 22-year-old, who has also been linked with English Championship clubs, is out of contract at the end of the season and open to discussing a move away from Dens Park. According to The Rangers Review, Ibrox officials have been following the midfielder, who can also play right back, for a potential free transfer deal. Lyall Cameron agreed to a pre-contract with Rangers earlier this season, allowing him to go from Dundee to the club in the summer. Mulligan, a teammate, is now being considered as a potential second summer signing for Rangers, although no agreement has been reached.

Docherty, on the other hand, is determined to keep Mulligan at Dundee and has pledged not to give up hope of Mulligan remaining with the club next season. As reported by the Daily Record, he stated, “We will not give up hope of Josh staying because you always want to keep your top players. “We started the season with Luke McCowan, Cameron, and Mulligan, and all three have made such significant improvements that they are gaining attention. It is critical that this is what we do at this club: improve and develop players. “It’s nice to see players succeed, and as long as Josh is with us, we’ll continue to work with him. We hope to work with him for a longer period of time.”
