Portsmouth’s players may not be on the pitch right now, but the city is never far from their thoughts.

Pompey supervised a good season in the Championship, avoiding relegation and finishing 16th. John Mousinho deserves a lot of credit for this accomplishment, and the South Coast club is now looking to build on its success. However, now that the season has ended, many stars are taking advantage of the opportunity to unwind and forget about football. However, Josh Murphy appears to be infatuated with Pompey, comparing a Dubai landmark to a renowned Portsmouth building.

Murphy prefers the Spinnaker Tower to Dubai’s famed Burj Al Arab.

Josh Murphy has had an incredible debut season at Fratton Park. The winger soon established himself as the South Coast club’s top player after joining a team that had recently won League One. The 30-year-old, who joined on a free transfer from Oxford United, had a great season in the Championship, scoring 21 goals.

Murphy had an excellent season at Portsmouth

As a result, now that the season is over, Murphy is enjoying a well-deserved rest in Dubai, a prominent city in the United Arab Emirates. However, Portsmouth was still on his mind when he insulted the country’s famed hotel, the Burj Al Arab. On his Instagram story (17 May), the 30-year-old shared a photo of the hotel with the caption “Btec Spinnaker Tower”.

Mousinho needs to target more players like Murphy

It is no secret that without Murphy, Portsmouth would have likely failed. The winger contributed significantly to the campaign and will most likely be a vital player next season. However, Portsmouth cannot rely just on the winger, and Mousinho must pursue more bargains like Murphy if they are to build on their current success. Hopefully, the management will have certain targets in mind as the transfer window approaches.
