Last Chance To Get Official Limited-Edition Goodison Park Book

From Monday 30 June, Parklife will be history.

The deadline to pre-order Everton’s stunning limited edition coffee table book, celebrating the history of Goodison Park, passes at midnight on 30 June.

After that point no further copies of the limited edition can be ordered.

Supporters can pre-order their copy by tapping or clicking here.

Lord Grantchester, the grandson of one of the most influential figures in the Club’s history, has already ordered his own personal copy – plus one to be stored for posterity in the Everton Collection.

The grandson of former Everton chairman Sir John Moores was thrilled to discover that several images of his grandfather feature in the 312-page volume.

John Grantchester, a former Everton director and the curator of the remarkable Everton Collection, sat down at Goodison Park recently to look through some of the images selected for the publication.

His grandfather, Sir John Moores, led Everton’s 1960s renaissance and earned the Club the title ‘The Mersey Millionaires’, with no expense spared to bring top players to Goodison Park.

In one shot, Sir John is pictured congratulating manager Harry Catterick in the Goodison dressing room after the Club’s 1963 title success – and pouring Champagne for skipper Roy Vernon, in another he handles a hastily-called press conference on Gwladys Street after the 1964 Tony Kay scandal broke – and there is an image of him inspecting changes to the Bullens Road stand in 1963.

But Parklife contains much, much more as it celebrates the history of Goodison Park in more than 200 powerful and rarely-seen pictures.

There’s a picture of a nun playing on the Goodison Park pitch, in full habit, an Alsatian dog saving a shot down at the Gwladys Street End – wearing an Everton kit obviously, and 1970s big money-signing Joe Harper nodding one past his wife, in a checked jacket and polo-neck sweater!

There are many unexpected rarities, including a 1926 shot of the Bullens Road Stand under construction featuring a teenage Dixie Dean in the foreground.

European action includes several shots from the night Goodison staged the city’s first European Cup tie against Inter. Also featured are the visits of Borussia Moenchengladbach, AC Milan in 1975 – plus rare images of the night Ujpest Dosza visited in 1965 complete with iconic kit, Nuremburg later the same year and a friendly match from 1958 when Dutch visitors Fortuna FC were beaten 6-1.

The final chapter focuses on the emotional final Men’s Senior Team match ever staged at Goodison – from the action on the pitch against Southampton to behind the scenes.

In keeping with such a prestigious publication, the UK’s leading watch brand and Everton’s official chronograph partners, Christopher Ward, are proud supporters.

Beautifully presented and housed in a protective slipcase, Parklife is strictly limited in number and priced at £78 (+£8 UK P&P via 48-hour tracked delivery). This exclusivity ensures that each copy is a true collector’s item.

The cut-off date to order is Monday 30 June, with despatch in July. Don’t miss out.
