
Latest on trams, buses, trains and roads as Sheffield cordon is lifted and rush hour gets underway.
Sheffield experienced severe inconvenience yesterday when the Park Square roundabout was blocked for the whole day due to a major police incident. Police reopened the roundabout this morning, but they are still talking with a man in a flat who is claimed to have firearms, raising fears about his own safety. However, transport officials verified this morning that the buses and trams that were affected yesterday have resumed service.
Travel South Yorkshire said in a statement today that “due to the police cordon being removed at Park Square, all bus and tram services are now able to operate as normal from the start of service.”
