Lee Naylor spotted something interesting in the Wolves warm-up before Leicester, ‘I’ve never seen it before’

Fans definitely did not anticipate Wolves becoming the most successful team in Europe at the moment.

Under Vitor Pereira, Wanderers have regained their confidence and had an ideal April.

For his efforts, Pereira will undoubtedly earn Manager of the Month, making him the first Wolves manager to do so since Bruno Lage in January 2022.

He has completely changed the club, therefore it would be well deserved.

In his brief tenure at Molineux, Pereira has accomplished a great deal.

However, one of his most important contributions has probably been to strengthen Wolves’ defense, which was lacking under Gary O’Neil.

And Lee Naylor’s observation during Saturday’s warm-up shows that a lot of effort has gone into the defense.

Wolves were a complete mess at the back under O’Neil.

Not to mention set pieces, goals were going in left, right, and center.

Wolves only managed one clean sheet and gave up 40 goals this season in the Premier League under O’Neil.

Wolves have let up 21 goals and preserved six clean sheets in the league under Pereira.

The improvement of this area of the team has been emphasized, and Naylor saw that the defense warmed up as a unit prior to Saturday’s match against Leicester.

“He knew what he had to do,” he stated on Matchday Live Extra. He was aware that he needed to prepare that defense. Working hard is evident on the field.

“I’ve never seen the back four or five working on their system for twenty or thirty minutes prior to a game before. I’ve never witnessed it.

“I’ve witnessed personal things. However, I’ve never witnessed that. He simply adds a sense of freshness and unity. He also has a relationship with the fans.

Prior to Pereira’s arrival, Wolves’ style of play was wholly unsustainable.

It was terrible that they gave up 40 goals in just 16 Premier League games. Pereira only needed to address the defensive problems so that the attacking players’ efforts wouldn’t be in vain.

Wolves now have a completely distinct appearance.

The signing of Emmanuel Agbadou, who has changed the game, is one of the primary causes of this.

Toti Gomes is arguably in his greatest form for Wolves right now, and he has been incredibly brilliant. He has also helped the guys around him.
