Leeds United have held talks with Lucas Perri in an effort to identify a replacement for underperforming Illan Meslier.
Perri plays for Lyon, which was recently relegated to the second tier due to financial issues and may have to sell players this summer.
Meslier has been at Elland Road for a few seasons, but he has been very unreliable between the sticks.
Djordje Petrovic or Perri anticipated to join Daniel Farke’s team

According to The Guardian (4 July), both the Whites and Sunderland are seeking for new goalkeepers this summer.
The duo were promoted from the Championship last season and hope to remain in the Premier League beyond the upcoming season.
| Club | Appearances | Goals Conceded | Clean Sheets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Botafogo | 67 | 58 | 31 |
| Olympique Lyon | 49 | 63 | 15 |
| Náutico | 44 | 49 | 14 |
| São Paulo | 9 | 9 | 3 |
Perri’s career stats.
Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic and Perri are keepers they want to sign, and both sides have spoken with them.
It is anticipated that one of them would join Daniel Farke’s team, while the other will relocate to the Stadium of Light.
Perri may be a nice signing for Leeds United

Perri would be an excellent signing for Leeds United because of his proven track record and physical characteristics that match the club’s requirements.
Standing at 6’5″, the Brazilian’s height gives him a huge edge in handling crosses and dominating his penalty area, filling Leeds’ need for a domineering goalkeeper after Meslier’s poor performances.
During his 2024/25 Ligue 1 season with Lyon, he kept 10 clean sheets in 33 outings, outperforming some Premier League goalkeepers.
Perri’s athleticism, shot-stopping abilities, and better build-up play make him a modern goalkeeper who can handle the demands of the English top division.
At 27, he brings experience and promise, and given Lyon’s financial difficulties, the Elland Road club may sign him for a projected £12-13 million, a steal for a man who might reinforce their defence and increase their Premier League survival hopes.
