Transfer activity continues to build around Celtic this summer, with growing reports linking players to potential moves away from Parkhead. Although it is still early in the window, interest in several key squad members is already surfacing.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side are expected to both strengthen and fend off interest in their top performers ahead of the upcoming season. Among those attracting attention is one of their most reliable defenders.
Cameron Carter-Vickers Targeted by Multiple Premier League Clubs
Leeds United and Sunderland are reportedly among the clubs in the Premier League showing serious interest in Celtic centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers. According to journalist Graeme Bailey via 67 Hail Hail, several top-flight English sides are monitoring the American international closely.
“I think there’s a real chance that the newly promoted teams in the Premier League, the Leeds and Sunderlands of this world, getting someone like him,” Bailey stated. “I think there’s a good three or four Premier League clubs, from what I’m told, who hold a serious interest in him and I think Celtic might be up against it keeping him.”
Carter-Vickers has been a regular starter under Brendan Rodgers. The 27-year-old made 30 appearances in the 2024–25 Scottish Premiership season, starting 29 matches and scoring once. He also earned recognition in SofaScore’s Team of the Week on five separate occasions.

Celtic Defender Facing Key Decision
Now 27, Carter-Vickers is no longer a developing prospect. Remaining at Celtic could offer stability and continued involvement in European competitions, helping maintain his standing with the United States Men’s National Team.
However, a move to England’s top division may present fresh challenges and new exposure. Recent Celtic departures, such as Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota, have highlighted the risks of leaving a starting role in Glasgow. The decision facing Carter-Vickers this summer could significantly shape the next phase of his career.
