Leeds United expected to acquire a £50 million striker this summer, according to sources.
Sources reveal that Leeds United will sign another center forward this summer after being projected to sign a £50 million attacker.
When Leeds United revealed their first summer acquisition on Sunday, it created quite a stir. The deal was verified hours after the news surfaced late in the day.
Compared to previous transactions, it was more covert. It was revealed that Lukas Nmecha has a two-year contract. Next month, the German forward will formally sign with the team.
However, Leeds United is only getting started. There are also plans to sign Udinese star Jaka Bijol.
However, Leeds supporters will be pleased to learn that another center forward will be joining this summer.
According to a pundit, Leeds United should keep pursuing the Fulham star.
Rodrigo Muniz is a player who may be safely ruled out even though it appears like a striker is on the list. When Leeds was mentioned as a potential suitor, Fulham slapped a hefty £50 million price tag on him. The Whites’ interest now appears to have diminished.
According to Lee Hendrie, Leeds should only pursue a deal with the Fulham star if the asking price is lowered:
Although he is a strong center-forward and undoubtedly has goals in his locker, I believe the price tag may deter Leeds from pursuing that. “At £50 million, you’re taking a risk,” he said to Football League World.
“I am aware that strikers these days command exorbitant prices, and I believe Leeds may not be able to afford £50 million.” Leeds might put this one on hold given how talented he is, unless they can work out a deal where they can obtain a good price for him—perhaps between £35 and £40 million.
“I do believe he could fit in with Leeds, so if that occurs, I do think they would make a serious effort to acquire him. He is a hungry center-forward, and Leeds plays that style.
Leeds must be physically present from the start.
It is evident that the club is looking for similar characteristics for the attack with the arrival of Lukas Nmecha. Players that are big and strong might make the ball stick and cause issues behind them. Leeds may be looking to replace Joel Piroe this summer because he doesn’t really offer this.
