Leeds United have set their sights on Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the new season. The Championship side will need to part with £17.25 million to secure the services of the German international, according to reports from the Sunday Mirror.
Talks Underway but No Formal Offer Yet
Discussions between Leeds and Hoffenheim have reportedly begun, though the Yorkshire club has yet to submit an official bid. Stach, who joined Hoffenheim last year following impressive spells at Greuther Fürth and Mainz, has established himself as a versatile and reliable presence in midfield.
A Versatile and Experienced Target
The 26-year-old has made 71 appearances for Hoffenheim across all competitions, contributing to 10 goals while primarily operating as a defensive midfielder. His ability to also slot into central midfield and defensive roles adds valuable flexibility, making him an attractive prospect for Leeds.
Hoffenheim Open to Sale as Contract Winds Down
With just one year remaining on his current deal, Hoffenheim are willing to negotiate a transfer, but they remain firm on their £17.25 million valuation. Leeds, meanwhile, are actively seeking midfield reinforcements after Joe Rothwell’s loan spell from Bournemouth concluded without a permanent move.

Leeds’ Midfield Search Continues
The Whites have already tested the waters with multiple bids for Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff, the latest reaching £10 million plus £2 million in add-ons. However, Newcastle have turned down those offers, holding out for a fee closer to £15 million despite Longstaff’s contract running until 2026.
In addition to Stach and Longstaff, Leeds have also been linked with a move for Juventus midfielder David Luiz, suggesting a clear intent to strengthen their options in the middle of the park. As negotiations progress, the pursuit of Stach could prove pivotal in shaping their summer transfer strategy.
