Leeds United ‘keeping tabs’ on £45m Brighton & Hove Albion ace also eyed by Everton
According to reports, Leeds United is monitoring Evan Ferguson, a forward for West Ham United who is currently on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
After joining the Seagulls from Bohemians in 2021, the 20-year-old has already made 80 appearances.
Although he has also scored a good 17 goals, he was permitted to sign a loan deal with West Ham in February.
TEAMtalk claims that Leeds is keeping an eye on Ferguson in anticipation of perhaps pursuing a bid for his services.
He was reportedly valued at £45 million during the winter transfer window, although it’s unclear if his inaction at West Ham contributed to the decline in value.
Additionally, he might be made available for another loan move, which might be more advantageous for Leeds financially.
The Whites would probably need Premier League status in order to sign Ferguson, as Daniel Farke’s team is presently leading the second division.
Everton, on the other hand, is apparently willing to rekindle their interest in the prodigy, so they may compete with them.
Ferguson was linked to Everton during the winter transfer window before West Ham agreed to bring him to the city.
Given that Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract is about to expire, the Merseyside team might be looking to add a forward in the summer.
If Leeds are able to secure promotion back to the top division, they also seem likely to concentrate on hiring at the top end of the field.
Unquestionably, Joel Piroe has a knack for scoring goals, but at times this season, his play has caused controversy. Under Farke, Mateo Joseph, on the other hand, has failed to establish himself as a consistent starter.
Although the 31-year-old Patrick Bamford is back to playing for the Whites, he has suffered from injuries in recent years.
