Leeds United make ‘approach’ to sign top-flight defender but face Nottingham Forest and Sunderland competition

Reinildo, a defender for Atletico Madrid who is out of contract, has apparently been approached by Leeds United.

The 31-year-old is a seasoned left-back with a wealth of high-level playing experience. Since moving from Lille to Atletico Madrid in 2022, he has been a member of the team.

After the Club World Cup is over, the senior Mozambican international is scheduled to become a free agent this summer.

Given that Sunderland and Nottingham Forest are rumored to have made inquiries, it looks like the Whites may be in for a battle.

After winning promotion, Sunderland, like Leeds, is attempting to put together a team that can close the gap between England’s top two divisions.

However, Forest wants to improve after finishing in seventh position in the Premier League.
