Leeds United plotting ‘new approach’ after £26m bid rejected amid advanced talks

The most recent Leeds United transfer news and rumours, as Daniel Farke’s team remains linked with a number of summer targets.

Leeds United are still connected with a number of transfer targets as Daniel Farke prepares his side for their return to the Premier League. The club’s ownership has already demonstrated their willingness to support the German head coach in the summer transfer market by signing Lukas Nmecha and Jaka Bijol.

The former is a wise commercial decision, whilst Bijol comes to Elland Road with high expectations from his experience in Italy. Leeds know they’ll need to invest in their playing roster this summer if they are to avoid relegation to the Championship.

All six of the teams promoted in the previous two seasons have been relegated, and the current transfer window will play a significant role in remaining up the next season. With that in mind, LeedsLive has taken a look at the most recent Leeds transfer news and rumor.

New striker bid after ‘£26m offer rejected

According to TNT Sport Brasil, Leeds are planning a new proposal for Fulham attacker Rodrigo Muniz after their previous offer of £26 million was rejected. According to reporter Fred Caldeira, the Whites are contemplating a second bid after the Cottagers rejected the first.

Despite being turned down, Leeds have not given up and are reportedly ready to increase their proposal. Muniz, who scored eight goals and one assist in 31 Premier League appearances last season, is under contract until the summer of 2026, with Fulham having the option to extend it by another year.

Newcastle United, a Premier League foe, is thought to be keeping a close eye on events.

LeedsLive states: “Sky Sports shut down any notion of a departure from Fulham earlier this week, so it’s odd to see claims that the Whites may boost their bid. It’s no secret that Farke wants to improve his front line, but it would be surprising to see them engage in a bidding battle for the Brazilian who doesn’t have the best goal-scoring record.

Midfield transfer target is in ‘advanced talks’ According to French media outlet L’Equipe, Leeds are unlikely to recruit Reims midfielder Amadou Kone, who is reportedly close to joining Saudi Arabian club Neom.

According to the newspaper, both the Whites and Ligue 1 side OGC Nice are interested in signing the midfielder. However, it claims that Neom might rapidly agree on a €12 million (£10.25 million) agreement.

According to the report, the Saudis are also in talks to buy former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette. Kone only joined Reims from Mali two years ago, and his contract is presently valid until the summer of 2028, but talks between the French club and Neom are underway.
