Promotion Secured, Now the Real Work Begins
Leeds United are preparing to heavily back Daniel Farke in the transfer market as they gear up for their return to the Premier League, with a clear goal of securing survival and long-term stability in the top flight.
After a commanding 100-point season that saw Leeds crowned Championship champions, the club is wasting no time turning its attention toward squad strengthening. Manor Solomon’s stoppage-time winner on the final day against Plymouth sealed the title—and now the focus has firmly shifted to building a squad capable of competing at the next level.
Transfer Window Timeline and Strategy
Due to this year’s Club World Cup, clubs have been granted a short 10-day window to make early squad additions before the market temporarily closes again. The main summer transfer window officially opens again on June 16 and will run through September 1.
According to Sky Sports, Leeds already have a clear plan in place when it comes to priority positions they’re looking to strengthen. The club is targeting four key roles:
-
A goalkeeper
-
A centre-back
-
A central midfielder
-
And a striker

Targets and Budgets Taking Shape
Among the names floated, Everton forward Beto and Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher have been linked. However, Kelleher now appears set for an £18 million move to Brentford, while a move for Beto looks uncertain at this stage.
The report suggests Leeds are prepared to spend up to £30 million per signing, which could bring the total outlay close to £120 million. That figure aligns with the club’s ambitions but may stretch the limits of Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).
In reality, it’s more likely that Leeds will operate closer to the £100 million mark, as previously reported by LeedsLive. The £30 million figure is more of a general spending cap per position rather than a hard budget.
Additional Areas Under Consideration
While those four roles remain the core focus, it’s understood that right wing and full-back positions are also being monitored as areas for possible reinforcement. The club’s recruitment team reportedly favour younger, high-potential players and may turn to loan deals to supplement their spending.
With the Premier League season kicking off on August 16, Leeds are looking to wrap up as much business as possible early to give Farke the best chance of shaping his side before the campaign begins.
