Leeds United are considering removing Daniel Farke and have made a’strong offer’ to a Real Madrid icon.
Farke was appointed following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship in 2023 and has faced criticism in the previous 18 months.
The West Yorkshire club was in a strong position to re-enter the Premier League right away, but they fell apart during the 2023/24 season, missing out on automatic promotion before losing in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
Leeds stood by Farke last summer, and it paid off as they beat second-placed Burnley to win the Championship title on the final day of the season.
Despite this, it was speculated in the days following Leeds United’s title-winning moment that they could replace Farke ahead of their return to the Premier League, citing worries over his previous record in the top level with Norwich City.

Following internal conversations, Leeds United chairman Parag Marathe recently announced his decision to continue with Farke.
He continued, “My plan was always to come and speak with you all right after the season ended, and that time has come.
“I want to tell you all that I’m very excited to run it back with Daniel.” Despite this, a rumour from Spanish publication AS suggests Leeds United is interested in signing Real Madrid legend Raul.
The 102-cap Spain international made 741 Real Madrid games and scored 323 goals before retiring in 2015. Raul returned to management after retiring, and he has been in charge of Real Madrid’s reserve squad, Real Madrid Castilla, since 2019.
Leeds United were connected with Raul in 2023 as they sought a manager to replace Jesse Marsch, and the 47-year-old is apparently still on their radar.
According to AS, Raul has opted to say ‘goodbye’ to Real Madrid in order to pursue a new career in management after missing out on the top post at the Spanish club, with Xabi Alonso likely to succeed Carlo Ancelotti.
Raul supposedly has several suitors, including Leeds United and two more teams.
The report states:
Now there’s a fork in the path ahead. On the one hand, his future. He has received serious proposals from Leeds United, Villarreal, and Schalke 04, who see him as the architect of their resurgence. ‘But the decision has not been taken; now is the time to think about it. And to determine which side is the favourite.
