Leeds Want to Sign Big-Name Free Agent for Daniel Farke.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke claims that Leeds United is considering a surprise move to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a former midfielder for Arsenal and Liverpool, on a free transfer. The Elland Road team is reportedly one of the England international’s suitors, along with Birmingham City, and is keeping a close eye on Oxlade-Chamberlain’s status after the transfer window closes.
After being released by Turkish team Besiktas in August, the 32-year-old is now a free agent, and a number of teams are attempting to take a low-risk gamble on the midfield player. Following his arrival with Besiktas in the summer of 2023, where he made 50 appearances and scored five goals, Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered through two injury-plagued seasons in Turkey. The 32-year-old is reportedly being pursued by Birmingham over a number of Premier League and Championship teams, including recently promoted Leeds.
Leeds Eyeing Oxlade-Chamberlain Move
After spending the previous two seasons in Turkey, Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly getting ready to return to English football in the latter stages of his career, according to O’Rourke. With 235 Premier League and 50 Champions League matches from his time with Arsenal and Liverpool, the 32-year-old would offer a wealth of experience to any interested party. In addition to being a member of the Liverpool team that won the Premier League and the Champions League in 2019, he is a four-time FA Cup winner, having won three of those championships with Arsenal.

Leeds’ solitary success came on the first weekend when they defeated Everton 1-0 at home. After three games, they have four points out of a possible nine, placing them 12th in the Premier League standings.
