The manager merry-go-round is in full gear, with Liam Manning officially joining Norwich City on Tuesday afternoon, and the 39-year-old will gradually adjust to life back home.
Bristol City have expressed an interest in Michael Carrick, just hours after Middlesbrough fired him following three years in command of the Riverside Stadium.
Nonetheless, Manning’s complete focus will be on Norwich as they prepare for Daniel Grimshaw’s arrival, and the Canaries are also targeting Vladan Kovacevic to replace Angus Gunn, a huge issue that must be resolved this summer.
However, with the transfer window completely open, the Championship team has just received their first bids for one of its best players, and the new manager faces a daunting task as they prepare for the next stage of discussions.

Norwich City get the first proposals for Borja Sainz.
Athletic Bilbao had already expressed strong interest in Borja Sainz; however, according to a new report from Chris Reeve, the first bids for the winger have been received.
However, the Basque club has not been the first to make a bid for the 24-year-old, who scored 18 goals in the Championship in 2024/25.
Instead, clubs from Italy and Portugal have made the initial moves in pursuit of the player. With interest coming in from Turkey, there could be more bids in the coming days, and Manning may struggle to maintain hold of the man who came second in the Championship Golden Boot race last season.
Liam Manning will learn the truth about Borja Sainz’s future.
While it will be impossible to replicate Sainz’s goals, Norwich understands that keeping the Spaniard will be difficult, and they may have already planned for life without him.
However, with Josh Sargent well regarded by Roma, replacing both of those two players would be a significant challenge, and Manning will face an immense battle to recover if their key forwards depart this summer at the same time.
The sooner a deal is reached for Sainz, the sooner the Canaries can locate a replacement. Norwich have a large transfer budget for this season, so it would not be surprising if they acted swiftly after either player left.
Nonetheless, the 24-year-old will be missed at Carrow Road, and his departure will leave a significant gap on the left side.
