Liam Roberts to leave Millwall.

LIAM Roberts, a 30-year-old custodian, is set to leave Millwall after his contract expires at the end of the month. The club attempted to extend his contract after the end of the 2024-25 season, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement. Roberts joined Millwall as a free agent from Middlesbrough last summer and has made six appearances in all competitions for the Lions. He saved a penalty at Elland Road and kept a clean sheet.
He spent four seasons as Walsall’s number one custodian before joining Northampton Town for the 2021-22 season. The following summer, Roberts joined Boro and spent two seasons there, one on loan at Barnsley. “As I say goodbye to Millwall, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the fans, my team-mates, and all the staff,” Roberts told Millwall’s website. “It has been a true honour to represent this club over the last year and play in front of such a dedicated fan base. Sharing the locker room with such a talented bunch of guys has been an honour.
“My family and I had amazing support during one of the most terrible moments in our life, and we will never forget the love and care we received from everyone involved with the club. That will be with us forever. “As I look ahead, my main aim is to play regularly and consistently at the First-Team level, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next chapter has for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will always be grateful for my experience here, and I hope Millwall further success in the future.”
