Live updates as Stoke-on-Trent building on fire and smoke pours skywards
At the scene of a fire, firefighters are currently there. It is possible to observe flames emanating from a building in Shelton that is located behind Coffee & Chai.
As of this morning at 6:15, the structure was engulfed in flames. It is situated on land that is adjacent to both Howard Place and Pyenest Street.
One StokeonTrentLive reader said: “The building behind Coffee & Chai is on fire. There is now one engine combating the fire.”
StokeonTrentLive has reached out to the Staffordshire incident and Rescue Service in an effort to obtain a comment in response to the incident that occurred this morning.

A reader of StokeonTrentLive reported that one of the abandoned buildings located by the canal along Pyenest Street was currently engulfed in flames.
I called 999 after witnessing black smoke billowing and hearing booms. There is a blockage on Stoke Road. I’ve been told that the homeless are living in some of the empty factories.”
