Liverpool interested in Sheffield United starlet, reporter claims

According to reporter Graeme Bailey, Premier League winners Liverpool are interested in Sheffield United attacker Ryan One.

Sheffield United needs to be ready for a pivotal play-off final. For a spot in the Premier League next season, SUFC will play Sunderland at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Recruitment chiefs will be looking at summer transfer business early on, but the Blades players and coaches will be giving it their all in preparation for the pivotal match against the Black Cats.

Regardless of how the season ends, Sheffield United has some significant assets that could attract attention while the required recruitment preparations are being completed.

One of them is Ryan One, a striker for Sheffield United who has caught Liverpool’s eye.

The Premier League winners are among the teams interested in the 18-year-old Scot, according to reporter Graeme Bailey of EFL Analysis.

According to reports, Liverpool is “doing an awful lot of work” on One, and Bailey even states that he would “be surprised” if the SUFC youngster did not join Anfield.

Earlier this year, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that Ipswich Town also had high regard for One and was considering replacing Liam Delap.

What has been said by Chris Wilder?

Blades manager Chris Wilder made it clear that he sees Sheffield United striker One’s future at Bramall Lane after the striker was linked to Ipswich Town in April.

The teenager has a “huge future,” according to Wilder, but he stressed that it is a red and white one. The Yorkshire Post cited him as saying:

“Ryan’s future is bright, and he’ll be wearing a red and white shirt in it.”

At the beginning of the season, the youthful prospect signed a new contract with SUFC through 2029 after joining from Hamilton Academical in the summer of 2023.

One hopes that the fate of promotion won’t affect them?

Promotion doesn’t seem to be a determining factor in whether or not someone is persuaded to leave Sheffield United.

It typically has a big impact, but as a young player who hasn’t solidified his position in senior football, that isn’t always the case.

It is preferable to stay where one is most likely to receive senior opportunities, which seems to be the case with the Blades right now.

Although SUFC is financially strong and, based on Wilder’s prior statements, One has no plans to force a move anytime soon, they might be more willing to accept a high price if they don’t have Premier League wealth behind them.
