Lucas Paqueta set to join elite Premier League club in West Ham vs Brentford

Lucas Paqueta will play for West Ham against Brentford in the Premier League.

After moving from Lyon to West Ham in 2022, Paqueta has experienced mixed results in East London. Paqueta had the opportunity to sign an £80 million contract with Manchester City in 2023, but the deal was derailed by an FA investigation into suspected betting violations. He will now have the opportunity to create history on 20 October when West Ham plays Brentford. Paqueta has stayed at the London Stadium in spite of the persistent rumours that he is leaving West Ham. Paqueta is now on track to become the 30th Brazilian player to reach the 100th Premier League appearance milestone.

He will join a select group of players from his nation who have earned the status of centurion if he plays against the Bees. Paqueta needs to move past the stress the FA investigation has brought and move forward now that it is finished and he was found not guilty. The 27-year-old may be the man the Hammers need to step up and get their season off to a strong start. This season, Paqueta has made seven appearances in the Premier League and scored two goals, one against Nottingham Forest and one against Chelsea. He needs to do more for the Irons.

Paqueta is one of the division’s most dangerous players when he’s playing well. He can score incredible goals from a distance and has deadly imagination. Now that he is among the squad’s most seasoned members, Nuno Espirito Santo urges him to demonstrate it more frequently and take a stand. If he plays on Monday, he will join a historic group, but it would mean much more if he could assist the Hammers escape. In 128 games, he has scored 21 goals and provided 14 assists for the team; if he wants to help them stay in the division, he must surpass that number.
