Luton sign former Portsmouth defender Bramall.

Luton Town have signed Cohen Bramall, a former Portsmouth defender, ahead of their League One opener against AFC Wimbledon.

The 29-year-old left Pompey in May after making 12 Championship appearances during the second half of the 2024-25 season.

He started his professional career at Arsenal and went on to play for Colchester United, Lincoln City, and Rotherham United, where he appeared in 91 league games before leaving in January.

Bramall told the Luton club website, external: “I missed pre-season with the squad, but I believe I’ll adjust quickly.

“I’m a fit lad and my game is built around being athletic and just being an engine, so I’m not too worried about my fitness.”

Luton has not disclosed the length of Bramall’s contract. Luton manager Matt Bloomfield stated, “Cohen has been a consistent performer at this level and above for several years.

“He’s very athletic, quick, and has an excellent left foot. He’ll move up and down the flank, giving us excellent options in the wide left positions.

Bramall, who can play both left-back and wing-back, is Luton’s ninth signing this summer.
