Sunderland is ready for their first season back in the Premier League since 2017.
Sunderland have been extremely busy in the summer transfer window. Leeds United’s rivals have already signed six new players as they prepare for their first season back in the Premier League after 2017.
The Black Cats, who finished 24 points behind the Whites in the regular season, have added Enzo le Fee, Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo Mandava, Chemsdine Talbi, and Simon Adingra to their squad this summer. Midfield duo Diarra and Sadiki were on United’s transfer shortlist, with Daniel Farke’s club rejecting a big-money deal for Diarra last month.
However, Black Cats coach Regis Le Bris has stated that certain players may leave before the market closes on September 1. Abdoullah Ba, Nazariy Rusyn, and former Whites winger Ian Poveda have been made available for sale, while a number of other players will have to establish their worth in the coming weeks.

When asked about the futures of players such as Niall Huggins, Nectarios Triantis, and Ahmed Abdullahi after their pre-season friendly versus South Shields over the weekend, Le Bris replied, “We will see for each player. I informed them that the first two weeks were reserved for the reconnecting. After that, we’ll have to be explicit about multiple paths; if some of them require gaming time, which isn’t available here, it’s unnecessary to stay.”
Sunderland defeated the National League North outfit 4-0, with goals from Wilson Isidor, Romaine Mundle, Milan Aleksic, and Ahmed Abdullahi. The Black Cats’ next match is a warm-up against Sevilla on Saturday at Estadio Algarve.
