A man has been taken to the hospital following a suspected stabbing in Eastbourne.

Sussex Police said they received a report that a 30-year-old man was injured with a knife in Terminus Road around 07:30 BST.

The man’s injuries were serious, but not life-threatening, according to the police.

Two men, aged 20 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They were released without charge and are now being treated as witnesses, police said.

The force stated that there would be an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance.

Officers were reviewing CCTV footage and conducting investigations to determine the circumstances, the statement said, urging anyone with information to contact them.
