Manchester United have been given the green light for Bryan Mbeumo transfer – on one condition.
Manchester United are linked with signing Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo ahead of the summer transfer window.
Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has already stated that the club is willing to sell attacker Bryan Mbeumo this summer, despite new reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.
Multiple news outlets have reported that United are interested in the Cameroonian international as they look to strengthen their attacking options during the summer transfer window.
Mbeumo was one of the best performers in the Premier League this season, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in 38 league appearances for the Bees
According to reports, it could take a £50 million offer to get the 25-year-old out of the Gtech Community Stadium, where he has scored 29 Premier League goals since the start of last season.
However, given Mbeumo’s excellent goalscoring record, a fee of £50 million for a player of Mbeumo’s quality and consistency in today’s market is a reasonable asking price, assuming the reported figures are correct.
Frank, who has previously been linked with United, was questioned about Mbeumo’s future earlier this month, and he admitted that the Bees are “open” to cashing in on the former Troyes player if an acceptable offer is made.
“I’m the head coach, and I want my best players to stay forever,” Frank told Sky Sports. “I know Bryan is very happy here at Brentford; he’s thriving, doing well, and playing brilliantly. What will happen in the future? I do not know.
“I’ve stated several times that we are a selling club. However, we must emphasise that there are ten clubs in the world that do not sell clubs.
“So, of course, if the right price – which will be high – comes along, I’m confident the club will be willing to accommodate it. But I’m very happy he’s here, and I’m convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here.”

Brentford have previously entertained offers for key players such as Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa, and Said Benrahma, demonstrating that they will not keep players just to keep them, which means that if an attractive offer for Mbeumo comes along that they consider too good to turn down, they will almost certainly accept it.
Brentford, like Brighton & Hove Albion, has mastered the art of recruitment in recent years, cashing in on players at the right time and bringing in a replacement who frequently steps up to replace their predecessor.
