Manchester United make Bryan Mbeumo decision after Brentford reject second bid
Despite Brentford’s present struggles, Manchester United want to sign Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
After their second proposal for Bryan Mbeumo was rejected, Manchester United and Brentford are still in
negotiations.
The two clubs are still negotiating to reach an agreement after United’s increased proposal of more than £60 million
for Mbeumo fell short of Brentford’s value.
United launched an opening bid worth £55m for Mbeumo earlier this month. Brentford rejected the opening bid and
subsequently knocked back the improved offer for the 25-year-old.
Mbeumo contributed 20 goals and eight assists in the Premier League last season, predominantly playing on the
right wing but also making a handful of appearances down the middle.
As their first summer transfer window acquisition, United paid Wolves £62.5 million for Matheus Cunha, and
Mbeumo would augment Ruben Amorim’s offensive options.
Although the London club has the opportunity to activate a one-year extension in Mbeumo’s contract, which gives
them more negotiating leverage, he is set to enter the final year of his Brentford contract.
In order for Mbeumo to report for Carrington’s preseason, which is set to start on July 7, United would like to
finalise a contract for him as soon as possible.
