Mansfield Town has signed Nottingham Forest midfielder Kyle McAdam on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old’s move to the Reds’ Nottinghamshire neighbours coincides with the signing of a new one-year contract with the top-flight side, which will keep him at Forest until the summer of 2027.
McAdam has yet to make a first-team appearance for his hometown club, having played at the junior and youth levels until joining the Premier League 2 Under-21 side, also known as its B squad.
He was a member of the Premier League International Cup-winning B team in May, with the Reds winning the trophy at their City Ground after defeating French side Lyon on penalties in the final.
While McAdam gained experience playing against English Football League opposition last season with Forest’s Under-21 side in the EFL Trophy, his loan with the Stags in League One will expose him to competitive first-team action for the first time.
Nigel Clough, a former Nottingham Forest and England striker, will be his manager at Mansfield Town.
“He has great energy, stamina and will give us a lot of versatility down the left-hand side, whether at left-back, left-wing back or left midfield, and is someone with a lot of potential,” Clough said on the club’s official website.
