At Sheffield Wednesday, a number of payments were ultimately made to coaches, non-playing employees, and a few players last week, but many are still pending.
Due to the numerous unpaid wages at the club, the Owls are still under embargo and will stay that way until all players have received their money, which is still a situation that has no known end in sight.
At the time of writing, it is suggested hat the majority of the senior team is still unpaid, more than two weeks after their scheduled payday.
Some players are thought to have received their pay cheques in the previous few days, while all coaches and non-playing staff are understood to have been resolved.

The next round of payments is rapidly approaching, and the Professional Footballers’ Association has expressed their disapproval of the “unacceptable” circumstances at Hillsborough.
According to a PFA statement issued Wednesday afternoon, “As the professional players’ union, we have now been speaking to members at Sheffield Wednesday over many months regarding repeated delays in the payment of salaries.” The players have not yet made an official statement. In the end, players and staff should be able to count on their employers to fulfil the terms of their contracts and to pay their wages on time, just like any other group of workers.
“Players, personnel, and their families’ personal and professional life are greatly impacted when that doesn’t occur. When there doesn’t seem to be clear communication about why these problems are happening and when payments are expected, the confusion it creates is exacerbated.
“Ongoing and persistent wage delays for players and staff are intolerable and must be resolved right away. Until this issue is adequately rectified, we will keep helping our Sheffield Wednesday members.
According to FIFA’s rules and regulations, players can legally give notice of up to 15 days if they are not paid for two consecutive months. If they are not paid in full, they can also effectively end their contract and become a free agent.
As mentioned earlier, their next pay cheque is likely to be on June 30.
