Maja’s brilliant performance for West Brom
The former Sunderland striker would end up becoming West Brom’s leading goalscorer of the season even though he only appeared in two league games overall during an injury-plagued 2025.

With a lower five to his record, Mikey Johnston was the Baggies’ second-most successful assist provider. Given their prior explosive performances in the EFL’s top level, Maja may benefit even more in the long run by the arrival of a fresh, dynamic attacker.

Naturally, the burden on Fellows’ shoulders increased dramatically as he gained recognition as a creative threat.
As a result, in his last eight Championship games of the season, the dynamic Hawthorns prodigy would only manage two goals and three assists. To put things in perspective, Fellows would need to play just three games at the beginning of the season to reach the same number of assists.
This is where former Derby County star Tom Lawrence could help by relieving Fellows of the responsibility of creating alone. According to a recent TEAMtalk report, Mason and company are eager to sign the free agent this summer, along with rivals Wrexham and Coventry City.
Maja will be eager to start the following season as he works to hopefully put his injury problems behind him.
However, the powerful number 29 will be looking for an even greater goal return than the 12 he recently managed if he is aware that Lawrence, Fellows, and several other stars are at Mason’s disposal and might be a teammate who gives him chances.
Although he scored a number of bold goals during his illustrious time with the Rams (37 goals in 185 games), the former Derby captain also accumulated a solid 25 assists at Pride Park over five unforgettable seasons.
More precisely, throughout his five Championship seasons in Derbyshire, the Wrexham-born attacker would have produced 22 great opportunities. If Lawrence returns to West Brom soon, he might perhaps reclaim this prior EFL mark.
