There’s a lot going on at Easter Road ahead of our historic 150th Anniversary match against Rot-Weiss Essen, with special merchandising, fanzones, and the debut of the brand new Pat Stanton Stand!

The Hibees will face German side Rot-Weiss Essen, reenacting the historic match from 70 years ago when Hibs became the first British team to compete in Europe.

To commemorate the occasion, we have a number of activations planned for supporters on matchday!

The Pat Stanton Stand Unveiling

Prior to kickoff, the East Stand will be officially named the Pat Stanton Stand in honour of one of Hibernian FC’s greatest players and role models.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early for the spectacular unveiling commemorating Pat’s incredible feat.

Pat Stanton Stand Fanzone

Tennent’s will sponsor a pop-up fanzone outside the Pat Stanton Stand for our 150th anniversary celebration against Rot-Weiss Essen!

The Pat Stanton Stand fanzone will be open for free to supporters attending our first home match of the 2025/26 season on Wednesday, July 9th, from 3.30pm. Our fanzone features something for everyone, including a Tennent’s-sponsored card bar, street food for sale, a live DJ, a Kids Zone and a picnic table area.

Special Commemorative Scarf Supporters

can purchase a one-of-a-kind scarf commemorating both Hibernian and Rot-Weiss Essen! The scarf was developed specifically to commemorate this historic event and is available for purchase at the Club shop until kickoff.

Official Hibernian FC 150th Match Coin The special Hibernian FC vs Rot-Weiss Essen 150th Anniversary Match Coin commemorates the club’s 150th anniversary.

This limited-edition collectible celebrates the historic friendly match at Easter Road on July 9, 2025, which marks the 70th anniversary of Hibs’ groundbreaking meeting against Rot-Weiss Essen in the inaugural European Cup in 1955.

Coin #0001 will be used as the referee’s coin during the contest!

2025/26 Away Kit on Sale!

Our brand new 2025/26 kit goes on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, and will be available until kickoff. We will have a pop-up merchandise shop at our Pat Stanton Stand Fanzone, as well as items available online and through our Club Store.

Finally, tickets for the match can be purchased online or at the Ticket Office right up until kickoff! Season Ticket Holders receive a special discount, with tickets starting at £5!
