Matheus Cunha had just four words for Nelson Semedo after Nations League win as former Wolves stars react

After the two teams couldn’t be separated for 120 minutes of play, Portugal defeated Spain on penalties.

A lineup that had up to eight players with Wolves ties made up the Nations League winners.

Only two of the players who competed in the tournament are now with Wolves; Nelson Semedo and Jose Sa joined their old colleagues in celebrating the win.

Numerous people in the West Midlands would have been overjoyed when former Wolves captain Ruben Neves netted the game-winning penalty to win the trophy for Portugal.

In addition to Neves, the two who still reside in Molineux were involved, as were Pedro Neto, Vinha, Diogo Jota, Trincao, and Pedro Goncalves.

Semedo was called into action during halftime of regular time, seeing the Wolves captain play 75 minutes prior to the penalty shootout, even though Sa did not participate in the final.

Semedo, who has not yet made a decision regarding his future with Wolves, posted a picture of himself with the trophy on Instagram following the win.

A few of his Wolves teammates, both current and former, were awakened by the right-back’s caption, “This one will follow to Portugal, it’s ours.”

Matheus Cunha was among many who responded to Semedo’s win by posting in the comments, “This is Nelsinho, right?” after completing a deal to Manchester United.

Well wishes were also extended by fellow former Wolf Daniel Podence. “It occurs frequently, but it’s rare.”

“What you play is something else,” said Neto, echoing Semedo’s admiration for the 31-year-old’s performance in the championship game.

Although Yerson Mosquera and Hwang Hee-chan also made comments, Neto’s was the most moving.

Despite receiving mixed evaluations throughout his season at Chelsea, Neto was quick to commend Semedo for his well-deserved performance.

Late in the game, the Wolves defender had a chance to score but failed to convert Neto’s cross.

In addition to displaying an attacking spark, Vitor Pereira’s skipper was tasked with keeping Nico Williams quiet, a duty he excelled at.

Semedo, who Wolves supporters will be itching to see in Old Gold next season, had a moment to cherish.
