One Wolves player in training has Matt Doherty utterly blown away; he will be a “definite starter.”
Since Yerson Mosquera is currently recovering from an injury, the Irishman has been a mainstay in Vitor Pereira’s squad this summer. Although Wolves’ preseason wasn’t particularly stunning, there were a few positive moments, and Doherty’s pick is a newcomer to Molineux. Jhon Arias joined Wolves this summer after joining from Fluminense in Brazil for £15 million.
The Colombian’s preseason got off to a strong start as he scored against Girona on his debut. Pereira has continued to give him the go-ahead ever since, and he is demonstrating why he was selected to succeed Matheus Cunha. Doherty is already confident that Arias is a good opportunity creator and has a knack for goal-setting: “Jhon hasn’t been here too long, but I like the look of what I’m seeing from him, he looks like he could be a definite starter for us.” With so many important players gone, Wolves’ frontline is a weak point, but Doherty believes his new teammate can fill it and have an impact.
