Max Muncy breaks silence on Nolan Arenado-Dodgers trade rumors

Max Muncy, the third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, has undoubtedly heard the commotion so far this season. There were whispers that the Dodgers will replace Muncy after he had a difficult first month of the season.

Given that he will be the best third baseman available at the trade deadline, Nolan Arenado was the obvious choice.

Muncy responded to the trade rumors between the Dodgers and Arenado in an interview with Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, saying he recognizes that it’s a “business.”

According to The Athletic, Muncy stated, “It’s never easy, but it’s baseball.” It’s a company. particularly if you’re a member of a team like this that is expected to win the World Series.

You also realize that they’re likely to take the opportunity if there’s any chance they can get better.

However, there is also where I have developed a relationship with Doc and the front office, and they are aware of my situation and are capable of improving our team if the opportunity arises. I’m open to playing any part in that. They are aware of that.

Max Muncy responds to rumors of a Dodgers trade involving Nolan Arenado

Being a seasoned World Series challenger, Muncy understands the business side of baseball and is aware that the Dodgers will bring in the finest players in order to win as many rings as possible.

Furthermore, Muncy stated that he would be more than happy to take on any position in order to make a trade work. Given that Muncy is having a poor season, the Arenado hype increased.

With a.177 batting average, a.304 on-base percentage, a.274 slugging percentage, one home run, seven RBI, eight runs, 20 hits, 43 strikeouts, and 19 walks in 113 at-bats, Muncy has played in 35 games.

Since the St. Louis Cardinals started their retooling at the end of the 2024 season, Arenado has been on the trade list.

The Dodgers were one of the six teams on Arenado’s wish list for a trade. The Dodgers haven’t indicated that they are interested in acquiring Arenado, as Ardaya points out in the aforementioned piece. Rather, Muncy was supported by the front office.

There is currently no rumor that Arenado will attract the Dodgers’ attention before to the trade deadline. Until then, Muncy must demonstrate that their faith in him was warranted by making things better.
