Meet Jerry Yates – our new number 9.

Hatters sign centre forward from Swansea. Jerry Yates, our new number nine, has agreed to sign a permanent contract with the Hatters.
The 28-year-old brings a wealth of goal-scoring experience, having scored 97 career goals, many of which came in the Championship over the last four seasons.
Yates joins the Hatters from Swansea, having previously won promotion from League One with Rotherham and Blackpool.
Manager Matt Bloomfield stated, “This is a massive signing for us.” Jerry is a seasoned professional with experience in both the Championship and League One levels.
“He wanted to stay in the Championship, but he’s been brought in because he fits what we want to achieve, who we are as a football club, and we want him to lead our attack.
“He’s a typical Luton player; someone who never stops running, never stops working, and plays with genuine energy and enthusiasm.
“He was a handful against us when playing for Derby at the back end of last season and when the opportunity arose to sign him we grabbed it with both hands.”

After completing his medical, Yates told lutontown.co.uk: “I’m delighted to be here and can’t wait to get started – it’s a shame I can’t get involved right away, but I’m looking forward to next week.”
“As a player, you want to compete at the highest level possible, and I felt that coming to Luton gave me the best chance of doing so.
It’s a massive club that was in the Premier League two seasons ago, and now is the time to propel it back up the divisions. “I came here, looked at the facilities on Kenilworth Road, and told my agent ‘get me there now’ after we finished.
“I’m excited because the club is ambitious and I can’t wait to get started and to scoring goals.”
