Boro is one of numerous teams associated with NEC winger Sontje Hanse.
If Middlesbrough pursues their interest in Dutch winger Sontje Hanse, they will be buying a ‘unknown quantity’ who may cause concern among Championship defenders.
That is the judgement of EFL expert Don Goodman, who believes the 23-year-old winger has a lot to contribute if he moves to the UK from NEC Nijmegen.
Hanse has been connected with a number of clubs following his success in the Eredivisie last season, including Burnley, Wrexham, and Boro.

The Dutch club is reportedly seeking offers of roughly £5 million for the former Ajax youth star, with bids likely in the coming weeks.
Hanse was close to joining Birmingham City during the January transfer window, and former Sunderland striker Goodman feels it might be a profitable move.
“Young, pretty direct, ball-carrier, six goals and four assists in a team that’s sort of mid-pack in the Dutch Eredivisie,” his agent told Football League World.
“It’s been a fantastic season, and he’s just started 23 games, so he might be a very exciting acquisition.
“And an unknown quantity that Championship defenders might be a bit wary of.”
Boro are believed to be seeking for forward options this summer, with Liverpool loanee Ben Doak returning to Anfield after a good stay on Teesside last summer.
