Millwall affirms Zak Zak Sturge signing

With great pleasure, Millwall Football Club announces Zak Sturge’s signing.

The 21-year-old left back becomes The Lions’ third acquisition of the 2025–2026 summer transfer season when he signs a long-term contract from Chelsea for an unknown price.

While on loan last season, Sturge made five appearances for Alex Neil’s team.

He made an impressive debut at Derby County, starting from the bench, and went on to finish the season impressively with four more games, including Millwall’s final three games.

Former Brighton & Hove Albion Academy player Sturge, who had previously played on loan at Peterborough United, joins The Den after playing for The Blues in West London.

“We’re really happy to have Zak join us on a permanent basis,” Millwall’s Director of Football Steve Gallen said.

“He joined on loan in January, and although we were aware of his skill as a player, Joe Bryan was playing incredibly well, which prevented Zak from getting many chances on the pitch.

However, he was outstanding when he did enter. He participated in the season’s final three games and performed admirably. Now, everyone is aware of Zak’s skill as a player;

he loves to advance and has a fantastic left foot, but he can also play defence in one-on-one scenarios.

“He is also a very good personality around the training ground and is a good signing for the club – it shows the direction that we’re going in.”

For the 2025–2026 campaign, Zak will don the number three shirt. After signing a long-term contract with The Lions, stay tuned to millwall fc to hear Zak’s opinions.
