Murillo, Hudson-Odoi, Moreira – Nottingham Forest injury latest ahead of Leicester City showdown
After Monday night’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace, where the sixth-place Reds rallied from behind to earn a point at Selhurst Park thanks to a goal from Murillo, Nottingham Forest’s fight for Champions League qualification appears to be coming down to the wire.
With three games remaining, they are now two points behind Newcastle United and Chelsea. The next match is against Leicester City on Sunday at the City Ground, with a kickoff time of 2:15 p.m. A preview of Forest’s injury situation before their matchup with the Foxes can be found below.
What we know: The defender appeared to be in some discomfort in the final parts of Monday night. With less than 10 minutes to go, he received some attention on the pitch and then limped out in the 81st minute. As the visitors hung on for a point, Morato took his position.
What has been said: Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach, stated, “Let’s assess him.” “I’m not entirely sure what he did. I hope it’s nothing. He is a crucial member of our team.
“He’s doing fine. He’s joking and laughing. Pundit Jamie Carragher stated on Sky Sports (via the BBC) that “that’s too much of a limp.” “Northamburg Forest supporters, I promise he will be well for next week.”
We know: At halftime last Thursday against Brentford, an uneasy-looking Hudson-Odoi limped off down the City Ground tunnel. He seemed to suggest that he had experienced some sort of issue. Nicolas Dominguez then took the 24-year-old’s place for the second half.
He was not part of the team at Selhurst Park. He did, however, take some time to snap photos with some Reds supporters while he was watching from the away end.
What has been stated: “We are certain that he will be able to play in the final two games, but it will be too early for next week.” After the drew with Palace, Nuno stated, “It will be day by day.”
Damage: Unknown.
What we know: Last month, while playing for Germany Under-19s, the young defender suffered an injury. Despite being on the bench during Forest’s loss to Aston Villa, he did not enter the game and has not played since.
What has been stated: “During their second game, he sustained an injury while playing for the Germany Under-19 national team. Earlier this month, Nuno stated of Moreira, “He has been out for two or three weeks now.”
