Negotiations to close deal for Nottingham Forest attacker – Manager wants quick deal

On June 29th, Record reported Sporting manager Rui Borges is an admirer of Nottingham Forest’s Jota Silva and would like to have him at his disposal next season.

A day later, we covered claims from Portugal that Nuno Espírito Santo’s side want €15m to sell the winger this summer.

Friday’s edition of O Jogo has a report on the Nottingham Forest player, titled: ‘Sprint for Jota Silva’.

Within the report, it’s explained Sporting’s desire is to accelerate the transfer so that the 25-year-old can be made available to Borges as soon as possible.

The manager is said to have asked Sporting president Frederico Varandas to ‘expedite the process’ to sign the Portugal international.

Sporting would like to fulfil Borges’ request and O Jogo claims they are in negotiations with Nottingham Forest to ‘close the deal’, on loan with an option to buy.

It’s unclear whether the Premier League club are willing to accept this, considering they reportedly requested €15m earlier.

Jota Silva left Vitória Guimarães to join Nottingham Forest last August and played 1,136 minutes from 37 games for the Reds, managing four goals and three assists.
