New Derby County signing gives one-word description of John Eustace, now it’s clear why he moved to Pride Park

The beginning of July has been quite hectic for Derby County.

The Rams added three new players to their roster on Tuesday, joining Carlton Morris as the newest arrivals at Pride Park.

Liam Thompson signed a new deal after EFL Analysis reported in June that Derby was eager to retain him, and John Eustace’s team is beginning to take shape now that the players are back in training for the next campaign.

The goal of this early summer transfer window has been to bring in Championship experience, and their head coach has succeeded in doing so, as one of his new hires is gushing over the 45-year-old.

Danny Batth’s one-word assessment on John Eustace of Derby County
Danny Batth, a centre-back who left Blackburn Rovers to sign a one-year contract with the Rams, was the first of the three new players to be revealed on July 1.

The 34-year-old was signed by Eustace for the Lancashire team last summer, and he was instrumental at Ewood Park as Rovers narrowly missed out on a play-off berth.

In black and white, Derby’s social team asked the former Wolverhampton Wanderers player to sum up his boss in one word. Batth’s admiration for the head coach is evident as he calls him ‘excellent’.

For the Rams, the John Eustace factor is a major draw.
Since Paul Warne was fired by the Rams and Eustace took his place in February, the team has been improving, and DE24 is generating a lot of excitement as the season approaches.

Although Batth and Andreas Weimann are not the high-profile additions that fans will be clamouring for, they both provide traits that the team does not now have, and it is obvious that they want to play for Eustace once more.
