The group is now accepting membership applications and encourages all fans to help develop a “transparent, inclusive, and community-focused relationship” with the team.
Burnley FC Independent Supporters Association (BFCISA) is a fan-led, democratic organisation dedicated to connecting supporters with their club and promoting responsibility, tradition, and justice.
A new independent Burnley supporters’ association been emerged with the goal of providing fans with a “stronger, more democratic voice”.
Simon Jackson, BFCISA chair, stated, “Burnley Football Club means so much to so many – it spans generations and runs like a golden thread through the lives of generations of fans who make it what it was, is, and will be.”
“The Burnley FC Independent Supporters Association will give fans a voice; it will listen, represent, and act in their best interests.
“From ticket prices to access; matchday experience to maintaining our distinctive heritage, the Association’s duty will be to speak up on and for topics that Burnley supporters care about.
“We’re open to all Burnley fans and hope everyone who cares about the football club will want to join and play their own part, supporting our shared interest: a great future for our club.”
Formed by dedicated supporters and linked with the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), the group claims to function independently of Burnley FC and is controlled by fans, for fans. Following responses from over 500 fans to BFCISA’s ‘Claret & You’ fan survey, the group’s priorities represent the topics that supporters are most concerned about.
The group intends to:
● Represent Burnley fans from diverse backgrounds.
● Campaign on supporter problems, including ticket pricing, accessibility, and matchday experience
● Strengthen links between fans and the club
●Advocate for transparency and responsibility among club leaders.
● Uphold Burnley Football Club’s rich history and community roots.
BFCISA is currently managed by an interim committee of volunteer officials who meet online every other week and have been working to create the foundations.
All leadership posts will be open for election at the first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the 2025/26 season, ensuring that the organisation is truly led and accountable to its members.
