Newcastle United is one among the Premier League teams interested in Chelsea target Ismael Doukoure, as TBR Football can exclusively confirm.
Newcastle is looking for a right-sided center-back, and since the team will be playing in the Champions League the following season, this summer is crucial for their recruitment efforts.
Doukoure, who plays for Strasbourg, who are owned by BlueCo like the Blues, is a target for Chelsea in 2026. With several more players on Strasbourg’s roster, TBR Football may also disclose the Blues’ plans.

Chelsea is trying to stave off interest in Ismael Doukoure, as TBR Football is aware.
Chelsea has been closely monitoring the 21-year-old, who has been a vital member of Liam Rosenior’s team this season. We can verify that Doukoure is scheduled to join Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 2026. Even if striker Emanuel Emegha may yet transfer this summer, they currently have the same strategy with him.
Mamadou Sarr, Doukoure’s defensive partner, has already signed a contract with Chelsea.
He is scheduled to join the Blues for the Club World Cup after arriving this summer, but it is anticipated that he will then go back to France on loan.
Sarr will return to Strasbourg, but we’ve been informed that Doukoure might not because several teams are interested in him.
We can disclose that Doukoure, a French Under-21 international, is attracting the attention of Newcastle, Brentford, Brighton, and Crystal Palace.
Germany is also showing a lot of interest in Doukoure, so it’s unclear if BlueCo will be able to hold onto him this summer. Given that Doukoure’s contract expires next year, BlueCo would have to make a big decision if he insists he won’t join Chelsea and would want to transfer elsewhere.
Ismael Doukoure’s potential contributions to the Premier League. Since joining Strasbourg for £1 million from Valenciennes in January 2022, Doukoure has made an impression.
In addition to playing for France at the Under-21 level, he has made 86 appearances with Strasbourg, tallying two goals and two assists.
Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout has compared Doukoure to Dayot Upamecano and called him a “complete, dominant, and elegant central defender.
” A “modern defender who feels very comfortable and has good composure on the ball/press-resistant with good ball-playing ability” is another way to characterize Doukoure.
