Newcastle United Bombshell as Sporting director Paul Mitchell is set to leave the club

Only a year after joining the Magpies, Paul Mitchell, the sports director of Newcastle United, will depart the team next month. Newcastle has stated that the sports director “leaves with the club’s best wishes” and that Mitchell will leave by mutual consent at the end of June. Mitchell only arrived in July of last year, rejoining former Tottenham co-worker and chief executive Darren Eales. Eales will be leaving his position soon after receiving a blood cancer diagnosis last year.

And now that Mitchell’s exit has been confirmed, Newcastle will also be looking for a new sporting director. Mitchell stated: “I want to express my gratitude to Eddie Howe, Becky Langley, the players, staff, owners, and supporters of Newcastle United for their support over the past year. “Working with some amazing people and being a part of the club has been an honor. “I’m going when it’s best for the club and me, especially since Darren Eales, with whom I have collaborated extensively during my career, is soon to move on.

The team is in excellent hands both on and off the field, and it is well-positioned to keep growing. I hope a prosperous and successful future to everyone associated with Newcastle United. The club issued the following statement: “Paul leaves with the club’s best wishes and the Board would like to express its sincere thanks to him for his professionalism and diligent service.”
