The Turkish media claims that Kocaelispor is interested in Sheffield United goalkeeper Ivo Grbic.
The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Çaykur Rizespor after falling out of favor with the Blades during the 2023/24 season.
Taka Gazete reported today on Kocaelispor’s interest in the Sheffield United-owned goalkeeper, who does not appear to have a future at Bramall Lane. Kocaelispor, the T.T.1 champions, were just promoted to the Super Lig and are looking to add players for the next season.
It is alleged that the Turkish club has already started transfer talks with Grbic and presented an offer to the Croatian. However, they were unable to persuade the player with their initial deal and are likely to try again with a better offer.
There are no rumors that Sheffield United have been approached or that a bid has been made to the Championship club.
Kocaelispor should anticipate competition to sign Grbic after reports that Caykur Rizespor want him to stay with them after his loan deal expires at the end of the month.
Caykur Rizespor will also meet with Grbic as they attempt to expand their team this summer.
The goalkeeper made 22 appearances in the Super Lig last season and is under contract with Sheffield United until June 2027.
