Norwich City fans react to Ben Knapper decision on Wilshere.
After sporting director Ben Knapper announced that Jack Wilshere would not be Norwich City’s new head coach, we took to social media to gauge fans’ reactions…
Right decision, in my opinion. If we accept Wilshere, we will only diminish ourselves as a new ‘trial club’ for young managers to use as a stepping stone in their management careers. We need a comeback, given that we know we have the quality. – @Rob_Blackburn_
We now have a well-known first-team coach who is eager to move on. I’m sure that won’t be an issue at all – @NCFCPonderings
Cue £10 million on Wilshere to be new coach when it drops to 20/1, and bang! There is our transfer budget for £200 million – @MartinJBuck
Interesting, and somewhat surprising. He seemed to be, and that was what I expected today, if not next week. For the time being, I believe he will continue to coach. @DraytonCanary1
So Wilshere will most likely be absent as well. Knappered that right up! – @jadorelmemes
I’m not sure Ben Knapper should be the current director of football. Way out of his depth. – @FrankSerpi54439.
Many people’s preconceptions were shattered this morning. – @RobinNCST
Massive pressure on Knapper if he gets this one wrong; Wilshere is too inexperienced to be considered – @GavinMorris7.
I’m not completely convinced that where Ben Knapper is on his journey is where we are either. TBH, @mattjware.
I’m really surprised Wilshere isn’t our next manager. I honestly don’t know who we will get now. @cthomson16 will undoubtedly have an interesting summer ahead.
It’s odd that there have been no rumours. Which is why we all assumed it would be Wilshere. If I had to guess, I believe it will come from Manning, Mousinho, Russ Martin, or Dave Challinor at Stockport – @dan_brigham.
Good news for Wilshere. If it didn’t work the previous season, why would it work the following season? I still think O’Neil or Hasenhuttl are the better managers to hire, but I’m not sure we can entice them to join the club. Exciting times ahead, @MrAdamCarey.
Norwich won’t win the Premier League anyway. If they’re stuck in the Championship yo-yo cycle, why not do something daring? Wilshere could bring new ideas and galvanise fans. – @TeGeneD
I had a nagging suspicion that it might be style rather than substance with Wilshere. – @RobboITV
Knapper’s decision not to consider Wilshere for the position of head coach was absolutely correct. Experience is required, and the right appointment is critical right now – likely for Knapper’s position as well. I hope Wilshere can stay on, though. I believe he will be an asset – @CanaryG_Wales
The usual shambles. In my opinion, this was a big mistake. We understand that two games are insufficient to pass judgement, but everything was positive, and he has a lot going for him. The truth is that it will most likely benefit him because our club lacks ambition. – Bob Gibson
It won’t happen in the next week or two. What a total joke. They’ve already had two weeks, and we need to complete business quickly and get new players in the building ready to go. It could be a big mistake not to give it to Wilshere. Young and up and coming, looking for a management position. Also got along well with the players. A new manager must start from scratch and determine which players he wants to keep, which will take even more time – Chris Whiting
It looks like Wilshere is about to leave. Crazy. “Our loss will be someone else’s big gain,” said Mel Wales.
You are taking a huge risk appointing him after two games with very average results—Stephen Clarke
Here we go: some foreign manager we’ve never heard of again. – Jason Goff
Again, wrong move. The board without ambition – Robert Brown
If it’s Martin, I’m done. – Trevor Houseago
