Norwich City man wanted back by loan club this summer

Last summer, Norwich City allowed the defender to sign a loan deal with the Scottish Premiership team. When he gets back, NCFC will have to decide what to do with him at Carrow Road.

This season, 21-year-old Adegboyega has been a hit with Dundee United and has seen a lot of playing time. In 31 games in all competitions, he has three goals to his credit.

“Manny has a situation at Norwich where they have an option on him for next year, so we’ll see whether they trigger that or not,” Goodwin stated in the most recent update, as reported by the Daily Record. Sam Dalby is the only free agent among them all, while Luca Stephenson is bound by a contract.

Having worked with those guys thus far, I can say with certainty that they are trustworthy (Adegboyega, Luca Stephenson, Sam Dalby, and Jack Walton). I have faith in them, and I continue to believe that everyone of the players we’ve discussed has potential. These are the kinds of discussions that our football team has to have in order to choose the best course of action moving forward.

Norwich City must consider Adegboyega’s best interests. NCFC has the option to prolong his stay, as Goodwin hinted.

The center-back was acquired by the Canaries in 2023 as a future player. However, he has never played for the East Anglian team as a senior.

He would have to fight for a spot in the starting lineup for the upcoming campaign if he remained with Johannes Hoff Thorup’s team. In his position, they have a number of options, including Ruairi McConville, Shane Duffy, and Jose Cordoba.

Before relocating to England, Adegboyega played for Dundalk and Drogheda United in his early career. He made his debut with the latter’s main team and participated in 22 League of Ireland games.

Adegboyega has had success throughout his most recent brief absence from Norwich City. They want him back in some manner since his experience at Dundee United has aided his growth.

The Drogheda native, who previously played for the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21 team, spent the previous season with Walsall. He played in 14 games for the Saddlers and scored three goals.

Before playing Millwall away on Monday, Norwich City will return to action on Friday against Portsmouth at home. For the time being, they don’t have much to play.
