Josh Sargent is one of two striker options being considered by Italian club Roma ahead of their summer recruitment drive.

The American international has impressed with his goal-scoring form at Norwich City in the Championship across a number of seasons. Sky Italy reports that he could emerge as a key target for I Giallorossi this summer.

After Claudio Ranieri’s retirement, Roma’s new manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, plans to strengthen their attacking lineup.

Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade, who scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, is a potential option for Julien Nagelsmann’s Germany squad in the upcoming UEFA Nations League finals, starting against Portugal.

Woltemade has also been linked with Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and a move to the Premier League.

Sargent is attracting interest from Premier League and Germany, with MLS clubs also monitoring his situation this summer.

Norwich are said to be relaxed about Sargent’s future, as the number nine is under contract at Carrow Road until 2028. Last summer, City had talks with MLS team FC Cincinnati, but they were unable to reach an agreement.

The Canaries are aware of strong interest in Sargent and winger Borja Sainz, who has been linked with Turkish clubs Besiktas and Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbache overnight.

Sainz is also attracting interest from England, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, and Turkey, but City has yet to receive any formal offers for either of their two prized assets.

The current consensus is that Sargent’s future will not be resolved until later this summer, with City willing to stand firm on their valuation of the prolific second-tier forward.

“We are not completely bound by the requirement to sell players before we can do anything. It’s not like that. “Of course, it’s a factor,” Knapper told the Pink Un last month.

“You must also consider the player’s perspective. We understand where we are in the larger landscape, and that must also influence what happens.

“If a player is offered a fantastic opportunity to play in the Premier League or Champions League, and a club comes forward with a proposal that meets the requirements, you must also be reasonable. That’s just the dynamic that all clubs face when they have good players in their squads.”
