Norwich parking charge increase happening in April 2025
Only a year after the previous rise, Norfolk County Council announced a fee increase in early February for its range
of hard-standing and multi-story facilities.
Parking on the street will also be impacted; bays located across the city will be divided into two bands, A and B, and
will be billed at different rates as follows:
Band A: from £2.10 to £2.30 for a maximum of 30 minutes; each extra 15 minutes will cost £0.90 rather than £0.80.
Band B: £1.50 to £1.70 for a maximum of 30 minutes; beyond that, each extra 15 minutes will cost £0.60 rather than
£0.50.
Bank Street, Ber Street, Bethel Street, Magdalen Street, Princes Street, St Giles Street, Chapelfield East, Crown Road,
Greyfriars Road, Prince of Wales Road, and Rouen Road are all locations for Band A bays.
Ber Street, Blackfriars Street, Calvert Street, Cathedral Street, Garden Street, King Street, Mulspole Street, Oak
Street, St. Benedict’s Street, St. Margaret’s Street, and Surrey Street are the locations of Band B bays.
Additionally, they can be found at Recorder Road, Rouen Road, St. Faiths Lane, St. Martin’s at Palace Plain, St.
Marys Plain, Upper St. Giles, Colegate, Cow Hill, Elm Hill, Fishergate, Mountergate, and Bedding Lane.
These modifications will take effect on April 14.
The authority is spending a lot of money right now, including £740,000 to hire consultants to remodel the market
and £750,000 to hire consultants to create the designs for a hotel and apartment complex outside City Hall.
almost the next year, the council must also save almost £3 million, which it intends to do through restructuring and
greater government money.
