A list of NFL legends whose sons played football for Notre Dame was highlighted by Kennedy Urlacher. Next season, he will use his skills somewhere else.
According to several reports, Urlacher, a sophomore safety for Notre Dame this season, is scheduled to sign up for the NCAA Transfer Portal. He is the son of Brian Urlacher, a linebacker who was inducted into the Chicago Bears Hall of Fame.
Urlacher will still be eligible for three more years.
On3 claims that Urlacher may already know where he wants to transfer to because he entered the portal with a “do not contact” tag.
Urlacher participated in 14 of Notre Dame’s 16 games as a freshman safety in 2024. He participated in the National Championship game as well as all four College Football Playoff games.
Urlacher earned a place on special teams despite not making the defensive rotation.
According to Blue and Gold Illustrated, he made the eleventh-most special teams appearances of any player on the squad.
Urlacher recorded one pass breakup and seven tackles, according to statistics. He witnessed the most defensive activity during a crushing 66-7 victory over Purdue.
Urlacher was the 19th-best player in the state of Arizona when he was a three-star prospect from Chandler, Arizona.
One of the few kids of former NFL players that played for Notre Dame was Urlacher.
The sons of former NFL players Plaxico Burress, Jerome Bettis, and Bryant Young, respectively, Elijah Burress, Jerome Bettis Jr., and Bryce Young, are also Notre Dame players.
