According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest has put a stop to Morgan Gibbs-White’s transfer to Tottenham because their Man City trade arrangement involving James McAtee has fallen through.

With McAtee going to the City Ground in part-exchange, Forest was in negotiations to sell Gibbs-White to City.
According to sources, the double deal was almost completed the week before Tottenham’s takeover.
When Forest denounced Spurs to the Premier League for an alleged “illegal” offer, the England international abruptly altered his mind and was prepared to sign with Spurs instead for around £60 million.
Spurs are believed to have activated the 25-year-old’s release clause, but Forest was incensed at their strategy and charged them of essentially tapping up the player. Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of the Forest, is thought to be upset with Gibbs-White and his camp’s U-turn.
