Nottingham Forest take action as Morgan Gibbs-White transfer saga takes fresh twist
Current Nottingham Forest transfer rumours: Tottenham Hotspur wants Reds star Morgan Gibbs-White
Now, Nottingham Forest has formally complained about Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Morgan Gibbs-White.
This morning, the England international arrived at the Reds’ Nigel Doughty Academy for preseason training. But there is still a lot of
ambiguity around his future at the City Ground.
Gibbs-White seemed to be close to moving to north London late last week. After Spurs activated the £60 million release clause in his
Forest contract, it was thought that he will have a physical on Friday.
However, the Reds are incensed about what they see to be Tottenham’s unlawful approach to their player. According to reports, they
have now complained about their opponents’ behaviour to the Premier League.
There are indications that Gibbs-White will eventually move to the capital. For the time being, a deal seems to be on hold, but it’s more
likely to be postponed than completely cancelled.
According to reports, Forest is worried about how Spurs learnt about private information in their top player’s contract. Additionally, it
has been asserted that Tottenham was denied authorisation to talk with the player.
The Standard claims that the Reds have informed the Spurs of “their objection.” Any official complaint must be looked into by the
Premier League.

Despite having two years left on his Trentside contract, Gibbs-White is said to have shown “little interest” in signing a new one. Given
that his value would decline as time passed under his terms, such a stance puts Forest in a challenging situation.
Anthony Elanga is the only important player the Reds have lost this summer. After two years of wearing the Garibaldi, the winger
finally made the move to Newcastle United last week.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team opened the preseason with a 0-0 draw at Chesterfield on Saturday, and Gibbs-White did not play. Because
of his international obligations with England last month, the 25-year-old was one of few players who were given more time off.
